Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 17 weigh in

So last week I saw my weight fall below the 14 stone mark for the first time since I was in the first trimester of my pregnancy - a welcome sight..

This week has been stressful and so I hadn't really planned my meals as I normally would using the Slimavite Bite Builder and just ate within a rough guide of 600 calories for my main meal with my 2 shakes.

I weighed myself as usual on Thursday and this week I weighed 13 stone 11 lbs - 2 lbs loss for me this week and bringing my total weight loss in 17 weeks to 2 stone and 7 lbs.

Eager to see what next week brings.... onwards and downwards!

Shake up your weight loss

Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 16 weigh in

Last week was a week without any change in my weight staying the same at 14st exactly.

This week there was a birthday celebration in the house (yes I did have chocolate cake) and as the Slimavite plan is flexible I was able to incorporate that in.

Have your cake and eat it!
On Thursday I weighed in at 13stone 13 lbs, so only a 1lb loss this week but it puts me below the 14 stone mark and for the first time in 18 months lets me see my weight in the 13stone + category.  Dropping into a lower weight bracket always proves a boost - onwards and downwards...

A new passion ... photography

Since having Little Man I have found a new passion that has taken over my everyday life - photography!

I never knew that I would get such pleasure out of the click of a button and in that instant have the ability to freeze a moment in time forever.  It is my personal time machine allowing me to return to an exact event and remember a time I may have otherwise forgotton.

Nowadays we tend not to print out our photo's and, like me, I am sure most people have huge amounts on their PCs or on disc but not very many out in picture frames.  A great way to show of photos is to have them made into a canvas and I was offered just that by Canvas Dezign.  I chose a recent photo of Little Man enjoying his first feel of sand between his toes....

I choose a 20" by 16" size (£30.00 less any P & P charges) and awaited the result.  Now  I do not have a state of the art camera (I really must get a decent camera when funds allow!) and 95% of my photo's are taken on my Blackberry, as was the case with the above photo, so I was intrigued to see how a snapshot taken on my mobile would  look when blown up on to a canvas of that size. Canvas Dezign recommend that for smaller canvasses your image needs to be at least 250KB and for larger sizes at least 500KB.

My canvas arrived and I was impressed by the care taken over the packaging,  with both bubble wrap and  layers of corrugated cardboard.  The sizing of the canvas was exactly as described and came complete with wall fixings.  The canvas was neatly secured to the frame and I have to say I was very happy with how the image turned out....not bad for a mobile phone image!

Up on the wall...
The Canvas Dezign website is easy to navigate and uploading images is easy.  There is also a handy FAQ page should you need further information.  Canvas Dezign also sell a range of other products and wall art.

Slimavite Diet Diary - Week 15 weigh in

After a fantastic 4lb weight loss last week I was nervous how this week would go especially as I have not been as focussed as usual.  I enjoyed an Indian takeaway and a few other treats!

So for this week there has been a sort of 'holiday' atmosphere in the house and that has rubbed off on me.  I have stuck to the Slimavite Biteplan but perhaps added a few bits I should not have done - haven't we all at one time or another.... this morning I weighed in at 14st which is the same as last week and my plan to date is:

Total weight loss: 2st 4lbs in 15 weeks

I think this is a great loss and my old jeans are huge on me now which means I can really see the benefits of the Slimavite plan in another way and not just on the readout on my scales - that is a real confidence booster.

I would like to loss another stone by the end of September when I attend the MAD Blog Awards so that is my aim at the moment and I am really proud to be the Slimavite Slimmer in the Spotlight this week - thanks!

Slimavite Diet Diary - week 14 weigh in...

So last week I had my first ever gain since starting the Slimavite Plan Not because of the product but merely how I was feeling.  Our feelings and emotions play a huge part in how we eat and my mind was far from on the plan.

Last week I weighed 14st 4lbs which, as I say, was a 2lb gain but having spent quite a few years on different diets (With 4 children and having gained roughly 5 1/2 stone each pregnancy that's a total of around 24 stone gained and lost!!!) I know my body can weigh heavier just from eating a heavy meal especially if eaten later in the evening so I tried not to be too hard on myself.

This morning I weighed in at 14st. That's it no lbs to add on the end! So a loss of 4lbs this week and so close to seeing 13 stone something on the scales for the first time since I was going up in weight when pregnant...

Total - 2st and 4lbs weight lost in 14 weeks.... I am so pleased with myself and the plan.

Why not have a look at the Slimavite website and see what it has to offer you?

Listography - childrens films

I haven't done Kate's Listography in ages so let's change that now.  I am someone who loves lists so this meme is a pleasure....the theme this week is childrens film and with so many on offer these days listing just 5 will be tough.

In no particular order, first on the list for me is Greyfriars Bobby (1961) I love older films and I have very fond memories of watching this film with my Mum when I was small and remember her crying at it - wasn't til I was older that I understood why.

It is a heart warming story of 'Bobby' a Highland Terrier that after his owner dies is determined to sit and guard his grave - much to the cemetary caretakers annoyance.  The antics of the small dog were based on a true story that my scottish Mother recalled being told as a child herself in Edinburgh.  If you haven't seen it is worth watching but the later remakes are really not as good as the original.

Next on my list is Finding Nemo.  We have worn out 3 copies of this film in our house and I know all the words but it is still a winner!

Another film that I never tire of is the fantastic Monsters, Inc. again 2 copies bought and worn out and yes I know all the words to this one to but I love the characters and the animation and could watch it for that alone.  The fur on Sully looks so real and it is hard to believe it is a computer animation.  I also love that there is no Monster Inc 2 although sadly I believe a prequal is coming out in 2013.  I do hope that it is a good as the first as so many follow up films are a real dissapointment.  Go Mike Wazowski!!

A non-animated film next and that is The Pacifier. Ok I admit Vin Diesel looks great in it and that I love a man that gets left to look after children but after seeing so many 'hard man' films with him in The Pacifier is a great combination of childrens film and a chance to check out Vin (yes shallow but hey ho!)

Right so that's nearly 5 on my Listograpghy list so last is The Wizard of Oz.  This is another film that I have fond childhood memories of.  We would watch it every Christmas and every year I used to say to my Mum "Why is it in black and white?" as I always seemed to forget it changes shortly into the film.  What's not to love about this film?  It is entertaining, colourful (in the end!) and at times dark and scary. The music that is played when the lady on the bicycle is in shot stays with me for life!  My daughter also loves this film and I sneak in when she is watching and curl up on the bed next to her and we share the movie as I did with my Mum.
